Current MetLife life insurance policyholders can access their policy online (24/7) by creating an account on the MetLife website. Benefits of having an online account include round the clock access to policy information, the ability to submit payments online/update billing details, as well as make claims and view updates. Use the guides below to learn how to log in, create a new account, as well as report a life/death claim.
Note: You can also access policy details on your smartphone via the Android/iOS mobile apps (official download links at the top of the page).
How to Log In
Step 1 – You can go directly to the login page by clicking here (link opens in a new window).
Step 2 – Enter your username and password into the appropriate input fields. Click the ‘Log In’ button.
Forgot Password – Press the ‘Forgot username/password’ link under the login form. Enter your email address into the input field, and then solve the captcha/math problem to verify that you’re a human (and not a spam bot). Click ‘Next’ to continue.

Enroll in Online Access
Step 1 – Click the ‘Register’ link in the login form.
Step 2 – Select ‘Account purchased directly from MetLife’ to access the individual policyholder registration page.
Step 3 – Enter the following details into the form:
- First name
- Last name
- Date of birth
- Social security number
- Email address
- Phone number
Step 4 – Complete the captcha and then hit ‘Next.’
Step 5 – Create your login credentials (user ID, password, etc.).
Make a Claim
Step 1 – To file a claim over the phone call 1-800-638-5000.
Note: Go to the life insurance claims page to download the .PDF claim form. If you log in to your account, you can find local agent contact details (they will be able to help you file your claim).
