Nationwide life insurance payments can only be made over the phone (1-800-543-3747, available 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM EST Monday through Friday), or through standard mail (Nationwide Financial – Life Operations, P.O. Box 182150, Columbus, OH 43218-2150). Payments cannot currently be made online, however life insurance accounts can be managed via the website. Follow the steps listed below to sign in to your account and manage your policy.
How to Login
Step 1 – Go to the ‘Insurance and Investments‘ login page.
Step 2 – Enter your username and password, then click the ‘Login’ button.

Forgot Password – Click the ‘Forgot username/password?’ link on the login page. You will be transferred to the password/username recovery page (as seen in the screenshot posted below). In order to successfully reset or recover your user credentials you must first verify your identity. Enter your first and last name, DOB, ZIP code, and last four digits of your SSN into the input fields and then click the ‘Continue’ button. This is a four-step process. Provide the necessary information and follow all on-screen instructions in order to recover or reset your forgotten password.
Enroll in Online Access
Step 1 – Click the ‘Sign Up for Insurance Online Account Access’ link on this page.
Step 2 – The registration process is comprised of five individual steps. The first step is where you will enter personal information (first/last name, DOB, ZIP code, last four SSN digits). Click the ‘Next’ button.
Step 3 – After entering your personal information, you will be transferred to the identity verification page. Enter the required details in order to verify your identity and move on to the next step of the registration process. Provide all necessary information in each subsequent step, until you have successfully created your online account.
Make a Claim
Step 1 – Start your claim online by going to the ‘Life and Annuity Claims‘ page and then clicking the link (‘Start a life insurance claim’) outlined in the screenshot below.

Step 2 – Click the ‘Start Your Claim Online’ link (as seen below).
Step 3 – You will be transferred to the secure online death claim submission form (screenshot below). Enter the first and last name of the deceased, their DOB, date of death, cause of death, SSN, state residence, policy number, claimant information (name, address, relationship to deceased, email,), and additional information into the appropriate input fields. Review all information to ensure accuracy, and then click the ‘Submit’ button.
Step 1 – Go to the account access page via your mobile browser (https://www.nationwide.com/account-access.jsp).
Step 2 – Click the green ‘Log In’ link at the top of the screen.
Step 3 – Select ‘Life Insurance’ from the drop-down menu. Enter your user credentials and then click the ‘Log In’ button to access your account.
