Principal Life Insurance Login | Make a Payment

Learn how to sign in to your Principal Life Insurance account by following the instructions in the login guide posted below. Also covered on this page is how to register a new account, recover your username, make an online payment, and how to file a claim.

How to Log In

Step 1 – Go to the homepage ( and then press the login button in the top right corner of the page.

Step 2 – Select your account type (e.g. personal).


Step 3 – Enter your username and press continue. Fill in your password to access your account.


Forgot Username – If you cannot recall your username click the “Forgot Username” link on the login page and then enter your email address into the input field (your username/reset link will be sent to your email address).


Enroll in Online Access

Step 1 – On the login page click the “Register Now” link.


Step 2 – Enter your first name, last name, date of birth, and ID number/ZIP code. Click the continue button to go to the next step of the registration process to create your password and other login credentials.


Make a Payment

Step 1 – Payments can be arranged through your local agent, or by signing in to your online account.

File a Claim

Step 1 – Claims can be reported online (by signing in to your account) or over the phone (get in touch as soon as possible with your agent if your claim is an emergency).
